Why should I buy The Fuel Lock?
Investing in The Fuel Lock allows peace of mind against fuel theft and contamination resulting in saving YOU money.
I’ve seen other types of locks on the market. Why is The Fuel Lock different?
Upon examination of other locking systems we found that they were easily broken and therefore we addressed the flaws found. With our superior product, we have eliminated the potential for sabotage and/or theft of someone’s fuel. The Fuel Lock has a longer lasting locking system and is more durable.
What sizes does The Fuel Lock come in?
The Fuel Lock fits 2½"(6.4cm), 3”(7.6cm), 3½"(8.9cm), 4”(10.2cm) and 4½”(11.4cm) filler necks. Please see Fuel Lock Sizes to find out what size of The Fuel Lock you will need.
How many keys do I receive with my lock?
You receive four (4) keys for your Fuel Lock.
What is the likelihood of another Fuel Lock owner having a key that opens my Fuel Lock?
Very unlikely – there are over 16,000 different key configurations.
You can purchase a new set of locks that will replace the current set. You can also get copies of the key made as long as you have one of the original keys. A locksmith cannot make a copy of the key by using the ID # on the key.
How do I install The Fuel Lock?
The Fuel Lock uses a clamshell design to enclose the fuel cap. A full set of installation instructions are included with each set. You can also view and download them on Installation page .
How is The Fuel Lock manufactured?
The Fuel Lock is produced exclusively by Timbren Industries of Canada for Guardian Security Products. It is manufactured with the latest and highest quality equipment including computerized laser cutters, robotic welders, and our own powder coating finishing process which exceeds industry standards. The Fuel Lock is leading edge and it’s quality is unsurpassed as we only use Timbren engineers, draftsmen, design staff, welders and fabrication personnel.
Timbren Industries, located in Whitby, Ontario, is a world leader in truck and trailer component manufacturing for over 40 years.
When will my order be shipped?
Your order is usually shipped within 2-3 business days using Canada Post.
What maintenance is required of The Fuel Lock?
Every effort has been made to prolong the powder coating finish. However, due to the extreme conditions that the lock is subjected to, sand pitting and chipping can occur. To protect the finish, we suggest regularly applying a simple car wax. For lock cylinder maintenance use a commercial spray silicone to help maintain the lock components and finish. We also recommend using some de-icer if a freeze-up should occur.
My lock does not seem to be working. What is wrong?
To ensure proper lock installation, the chrome lock cylinder must have the keyway notch facing inwards towards the temporary red dot. This allows the locking mechanism to engage. Please see Using Your Fuel Lock found in your installation guide provided with The Fuel Lock or the Installation page.
What replacement parts do you sell?
We sell locks, weather caps and fuel resistant nitrite rubber gaskets. Please see our Products page.
Do I have to pay taxes or exporting costs?
Any applicable duties are the responsibility of the buyer. Canadian provincial taxes and goods and services taxes will be calculated at the time of purchase for Canadian buyers.
The total lock is guaranteed for one year. If The Fuel Lock or any parts are faulty within the first year please contact us and we will repair or replace it at our discretion. This non-transferable warranty is in effect for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase and is valid only if the original dated bill of sale is presented when service is required. The warranty does not cover damage that occurred during shipment, or that was caused by accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, unauthorized product modification, failure to perform routine maintenance as recommended, or damage resulting from unauthorized repairs.
