Lock Installation and Removal

  1. Insert Chrome Lock Cylinder into Lock Receiver.

  2. To ensure proper lock installation, Chrome Lock Cylinder must have Keyway Notch facing inward towards temporary red dot. This allows the locking mechanism to engage.

Step 3

  1. With factory fuel cap in place, “The Fuel Lock” slips over the cap to prevent tampering.

  2. Chrome Lock Cylinder is then pushed down into place and Rubber Weather cap is placed in the Lock Receiver.

  3. Chrome Lock Cylinder removal: Insert key and rotate key 180 degrees clockwise. Pull Chrome Lock Cylinder up out of Lock Receiver. (With new Fuel Locks you may need to apply a bit of pressure when pulling up on the Cylinder Lock to clear Lock Receiver)

Maintenance:

  • Every effort has been made to prolong the powder coating finish. Due to the extreme conditions that the lock is subjected to, sand-pitting and chipping can occur. To protect the finish, we suggest regularly applying a simple car wax.
  • Use a commercial spray silicone to help maintain the lock components and finish.
  • We also recommend having some de-icer if a freeze-up should occur.

**** Please Note ****

For Model DFL40 (Peterbilt) The Fuel Lock top seam must be parallel to the Fuel Tank
